Choosing Christmas Ornaments for Your Tree

Build in layers

Start with simple round baubles in your main colours. Spread them evenly and tuck some deeper into the branches so the tree looks full from every side. Then add your feature pieces, like hearts, animal designs or anything with a story behind it, closer to eye level where people will notice them. Heavier ornaments sit best on the sturdier branches near the trunk.

Buy more than you think you need

A tree nearly always takes more ornaments than expected. Buying several of the same design is an easy way to fill the gaps, and repeating a design makes the tree look planned rather than random.

Ornaments as gifts

A single ornament is one of the easiest Christmas gifts to get right. An animal design for someone who loves their dog, or a bauble in their favourite colour, is a small present they’ll bring out every December.
